How to optimize energy use
Siftek™ membranes are filters that allow the separation of water vapor from other vapor compounds in a gas mixture. Vaperma’s technology provides significant energy savings due to the efficiency of the membrane process combined with an advanced heat recovery concept. The membrane separation takes place in the vapor phase with no condensation steps such as in the conventional distillation process. In addition, Siftek™ membrane separation involves a very low rate of product recirculation. Typically, less than 3% of ethanol is recirculated compared to 20% for molecular sieves.
