Sustainable Development Policy
The objective of this policy is to support Vaperma's vision in reference to sustainable development and foster its competitiveness on the economic, social and environmental aspects.Vaperma believes that the two principal issues of sustainable development for the years to come will reside in the adaptation to climate changes and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). The main challenges of sustainable development include the modification of energy production and consumption practices as well as the development of cleaner, more efficient, and more profitable energy technologies that optimize resources management and thus minimize environmental impacts.Vaperma wishes to contribute to these changes by improving its economic, social, and environmental performance.
Vaperma is committed to applying sustainable development principles in its activities as well as those of all its stakeholders through the adoption of a Life Cycle Value Assessment (LCVA) approach for:
- Decision-making processes
- Product design
- Operations
- Services
- Optimizing raw materials and energy utilization
- Reducing, appreciating and re-using raw materials
- Identifying alternatives to minimize environmental impacts
- Improving work conditions in regards to health and safety
- Adhering to an international code of conduct and by sensitizing all its stakeholder to abide by this code
- Consulting its stakeholders to produce a sustainable development report on Vaperma's commitment
The ''Life Cycle Analysed (LCAS)'' process being evaluated is: ''The separation of an ethanol: water (or methane: water) vapor mixture into a 99+% w/w fuel-grade ethanol product.''
- Develop a module optimization program minimizing inputs and waste products
- Optimize the module (product) technical performances on its overall life cycle
- Create a workplace health and safety committee and a prevention program
- Implement a system for the evaluation and analysis of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction
