The development and maintenance of key business relationships are crucial to our future success. Our current key relationships are with:
In September 2005, Vaperma entered into a joint demonstration project with GreenField Ethanol (GFE) to facilitate the development, demonstration, and validation of the Siftek™ membrane technology with GFE providing a host demonstration site at the Tiverton and Chatham Ethanol Plants in Ontario, Canada.
The agreement provided a framework for a broad collaboration and could lead to the first large-scale demonstration of Vaperma membrane technology for the dewatering of ethanol. Subject to certain restrictions in Canada, products developed and demonstrated under this agreement will be available for purchase by third parties. Also, GFE has agreed to provide Vaperma with reasonable access to the plant site to promote Siftek™ membrane technology to other ethanol producers and ethanol process technology providers.
The first project, undertaken in mid-2006 under the terms of the joint demonstration agreement, is the installation and testing of a 50 kg/h, skid-mounted system to demonstrate membrane lifetime performance and reliability.
GreenField Ethanol is Canada's largest ethanol producer. Founded in 1989, GFE owns and operates ethanol plants in Chatham and Tiverton, Ontario. GFE currently manufactures 215 million litres of alcohol per year. A new 120-million-litre-per-year plant in Varennes, Québec, is operational since 2007. Construction is underway for plants in Johnstown and Hensall, Ontario.
