Piracicaba, 2008; A Joint Project With Dedini S/A Indústrias de Base
As a result of successful partnership with Dedini, a Siftek™ small scale demonstration system was built at Piracicaba, Brazil. This project has been undertaken to demonstrate the efficiency of the Siftek™ membrane system to produce ethanol with sugarcane as a feedstock.
The unit is a skid-mounted system of 3,6 m3/day production capacity. The demonstration unit is characterized by its great flexibility. It can treat ethanol between 40% and 93% EtOH to achieve 99.5%. The main objectives of the demonstration system are as follows:
- Demonstrate the efficiency of the Siftek™ membrane system for purifying sugar cane ethanol
- Demonstrate the flexibility of Vaperma's system to produce both hydrous and anhydrous ethanol
- Provide a showcase for Brazilian sugarcane alcohol distilleries
