Tiverton, 2008; A Joint Pilot Project With GreenField Ethanol (GFE)
Prior to implementing a 20 m3/day (5 300 Gal/day) unit at Chatham, GFE and Vaperma collaborated and jointly developed a pilot test program at GFE’s Tiverton plant. The pilot testing unit of a 50 kg/h, skid-mounted system was installed to demonstrate membrane lifetime performance and reliability. The pilot operated for more than 12 months. The main objectives of the Tiverton pilot project were as follows:
- Confirm the durability of the Siftek™ module fibers under plant operating conditions.
- Obtain design parameters for the full scale demonstration system at Chatham.
- Demonstrate Vaperma's capability to successfully manage the overall pilot project including engineering support, responsiveness, and remote trouble-shooting capacity with the pilot SCADA system.
